Chief guest Dr. Patiyal gave some important health tips to the parents and said, “Nowadays parents do not let their children play in the Sun because there is a myth that the skin tone gets darker if it gets in contact with Sun. Being a doctor I assure all parents sitting here that skin tone has nothing to do with Sun, every child is born with a god gifted skin tone which does not change throughout lifetime. It has been noticed that there is major Vitamin D deficiency among children in Shimla, which can only be overcome by letting them play in the Sun. I wish the children best of luck for their future”.
The event formally ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal Vidhupriya Chakrabarty. She stressed on the importance of sports in a child’s life and said, “Sports is an integral part in development of a child. It plays a vital role in making a child sound physically as well as mentally. A very important quality that a child learns on the play ground is fair play. It is a place for them to overcome their weaknesses and showcase their strengths. In spite of having a small space for conducting sports day, we make it a point to hold this event every year. At last I would like to thank Dr. Patiyal for gracing us with his presence. I would also like to thank all the teachers for their hard work and the parents for being a massive support for their children.”
