In a major financial relief for retired state employees, the Himachal Pradesh government has ordered the release of the remaining 30% pension and family pension arrears for Class-III personnel who retired between January 1, 2016, and January 31, 2022. With this payment, the outstanding pension arrears for eligible Class-III pensioners will drop to zero.

Additionally, the government has authorized the release of an extra 15% instalment of pension arrears for Class-I and Class-II officers who retired during the same period. According to a state government spokesperson, all Pension Disbursing Authorities and public sector banks have been instructed to release these net payments along with the September 2026 pension, payable in October 2026. The disbursements will follow the terms specified in earlier memorandums, with necessary adjustments for Interim Relief and Dearness Relief already paid.
