In a heartfelt tribute to those impacted by the recent monsoon-triggered floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh, A Company of the 133 Eco Task Force (ETF) conducted a tree plantation and community outreach program at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Shakra.
The initiative, led by Lt Col Lokesh Dhiman, Company Commander of A Coy, saw active participation from the troops, school staff, and around 100 students. The drive aimed to not only aid ecological restoration but also raise awareness about environmental protection in the fragile Himalayan region.
To honour the victims of the natural calamities, a two-minute silence was observed during the event. Lt Col Dhiman also delivered an inspiring “Know Your Army” session, engaging with students on the Indian Army’s vital role in both national defense and environmental stewardship.
The Principal of GSSS Shakra expressed deep appreciation for the continued efforts of 133 ETF, noting that such initiatives foster a sense of responsibility among youth and communities toward ecological preservation.
The event stood as a powerful gesture of unity and commitment—bringing together the Army, educators, and young citizens to work towards rebuilding and protecting Himachal Pradesh’s environment after a season of devastating natural events.
