155th Annual Inter-House Boxing Competition Held at Bishop Cotton School

Bishop Cottons School Headmaster RC Robinson welcomed the chief guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Yunus and all the participants for the 155th Annual Inter-house Boxing competition finals that took place in the school premises on 9th August, 2014. A national level boxer himself, the headmaster was elated as the event took place with energetic students ready to show their skills. The boxing coach Dinesh Kumar informed that the boxing tournament had been going on from last one and half month in the gymnasium hall, in which around 456 students has participated. Various round of competitions in different categories had been held during this period.

The best boxer prize in Junior Category was given to Rihaan Bhagirath, while Laruth Sanga was announced as best boxer in the Middle Category. Shubham Hisariya of Class 12 won the best boxer prize in the Senior Category. Other prominent winners in various categories were the Best Promising Boxer: Priyamvad Sharma, Best Loser: Vidip Kukreti. The final positions of the houses were as follows First: Curzon House; Second: Ibbetson House; Third: Rivaz House; and Fourth: Lefroy House.

The event officially ended with a speech by the headmaster of the school, R.C Robinson who said, “I would like to thank Dr Yunus for gracing the occasion with his esteemed presence today. I congratulate the winners and all other participants for performing brilliantly. Sports play a very important part in the overall development of a child. This game has the capability to make the students strong and also helps them to become good decision makers”.
