295 Illegal Mining Cases Detected In Himachal

The Mining Department has achieved significant success in curbing illegal mining during a special campaign conducted from 1st to 15th December, stated Director Industries Dr. Yunus here today. He said that 295 cases of illegal mining were detected and fine amounting to Rs.12,60,400 was imposed. He said that to discourage such activities strict action was taken against those involved.

Dr. Yunus said that public awareness and participation played a crucial role in the success of this campaign. Under this campaign intensive inspections were carried out across the state with a focus on promoting scientific and environmentally safe mining practices. He said that the government was committed to conserving mineral wealth and ensuring environmental protection in the state.

Director said that the citizens were encouraged to report any instances of illegal mining as prompt and strict action was taken against offenders. He assured that the department was working with utmost commitment to resolving complaints regarding illegal mining activity and resolving the matter swiftly and fairly. He further said that active public cooperation was key to sustaining these efforts and achieving long-term success in protecting the resources of state to maintain ecological balance.
