Chief Minister, while chairing the 16th Board of Directors meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN), underscored the need for aligning skill development initiatives with market demands to enhance youth employability.
He directed HPKVN to design a comprehensive action plan focused on market-driven training programmes and their efficient execution. Emphasizing the goal of creating employment and self-employment avenues, the CM highlighted that increasing the capacity and employability of youth must remain central to all skilling efforts.
To improve infrastructure for skill development, Sukhu instructed officials to speed up construction of the Centre of Excellence at Waknaghat (Solan), Model Career Centres at Kaza and Udaipur, and the Rural Livelihood Centre in Nalagarh. He stressed the importance of maintaining quality in these projects to ensure optimal benefit for the youth.
Additionally, the Board approved expenses related to securing fire safety clearances for facilities including RLC Seraj and Model Career Centres at Mandi and Baddi.
CM reported that between January 1, 2023, and the present, 45,455 youth have been enrolled in various schemes of the Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. Among them, 39,794 have received training certificates and 8,586 have secured placements.
The meeting was also attended by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, HPKVN State Convenor Atul Karohta, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, and other senior officials.
