Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth interacted with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mount Everest Expedition team in New Delhi on June 11, 2025, following their triumphant summit of the world’s highest peak on May 18, 2025. During the interaction, the cadets shared inspiring accounts of their journey, detailing the intense preparation, rigorous training, and extreme challenges they overcame during the expedition. Sanjay Seth commended the cadets for their resilience, discipline, and teamwork, calling their achievement a proud moment for the nation.
This marks the third successful Everest expedition undertaken by the NCC, following earlier summits in 2013 and 2016. The 2025 expedition team included ten cadets—five boys and five girls—with an average age of just 19 years. Many among them were first-time climbers, making the feat even more remarkable. They were supported by a dedicated team of officers, junior commissioned officers, instructors, and NCOs, ensuring professional coordination and safety throughout the mission.
The expedition was officially flagged off by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh from New Delhi on April 3, 2025. This successful summit reinforces the NCC’s spirit of adventure and leadership, and stands as a testament to the courage and capability of India’s youth.
