CM Sukhu reviewed the state’s situation following continuous heavy rainfall and the resulting damage. Upon arriving at his official residence, Oak Over, in Shimla around 2 PM from Chandigarh, he held a detailed meeting with the Chief Secretary, who provided updates on the affected regions and ongoing relief efforts.
Emphasizing that public safety is the government’s top priority, the Chief Minister instructed officials to intensify relief and rescue operations. He assured affected families that the state government stands firmly with them during this crisis.
Urging citizens to stay alert, he appealed to the public to follow government advisories strictly and avoid going near rivers and streams, especially with a heavy rainfall alert in place for the next three days, as forecasted by the Meteorological Department.
The Chief Minister had earlier conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Chamba and Kangra on Saturday. His planned visit to Kullu district today was cancelled due to inclement weather, forcing him to return to Shimla by road.
