Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri expressed serious concern over the damage caused by heavy rainfall in several areas of the state and directed officials to expedite relief and restoration efforts on a war footing.

He informed that the Jal Shakti Vibhag has incurred losses amounting to approximately ₹100 crore due to the ongoing disaster. In Chamba district, out of 487 affected water supply schemes, 394 have been partially restored, and work is progressing rapidly on the remaining ones.

To address immediate needs, temporary water supply is being arranged by tapping local sources in the Chamba–Bharmour region. As per estimates, full restoration of all schemes may take another four to five days.

The Deputy Chief Minister praised the dedication of departmental staff working tirelessly under challenging conditions and confirmed that all 41 employees deployed during the Manimahesh Yatra are safe.

He reassured the public that the state government is fully committed to supporting affected communities and that concrete steps are being taken to restore normal water supply at the earliest.
