Renowned writer and former Deputy General Manager of SJVN, Mridula Srivastava, is set to be honoured with the prestigious ‘Sahitya Shiromani Samman’ in Thimphu, Bhutan, on September 14. The award recognises her widely acclaimed short story collection Jalpash and her significant contributions to contemporary Hindi literature.
The felicitation will take place during the Bhutan-India Literature Festival, scheduled from September 13 to 17, organized by the Krantidhara Sahitya Academy. The event will see participation from prominent writers, poets, and scholars from both India and Bhutan. On this occasion, Mridula’s first satire collection Aalasya Mev Jayate will also be formally released.
Mridula Srivastava has carved a distinct identity in the literary world, with her works being published in India and internationally, including in Mauritius. Her debut collection Kaash Pandori Na Hoti earned her the Srijanlok Pratham Kriti Samman. Several of her writings have been translated into English, French, and Nepali, reflecting her cross-cultural appeal and literary depth.
The honour marks yet another milestone in her distinguished literary journey and brings pride to the literary community of Himachal Pradesh.
