The celebrations of Hindi Day 2025 and the Fifth All India Official Language Conference concluded with a vibrant ceremony in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, marked by insightful discussions, cultural presentations, and the presence of key national leaders.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah ji, the Chief Guest at the event, emphasized that Hindi and Indian languages are not rivals, but complementary forces shaping India’s intellectual and cultural future. He called for the wider use of Hindi in science, technology, law, and policing, and highlighted the role of technology in promoting Indian languages, mentioning initiatives like the Sarathi Translation System and the growing Hindi Shabdsindhu digital lexicon, now boasting over 7 lakh words.

“Hindi must go beyond daily use and become the language of innovation and governance,” he said, urging parents to speak to their children in their mother tongues, asserting that self-respect begins with language.

The conference featured notable sessions on the use of Hindi and Indian languages in information technology, and mechanisms for implementing the official language across institutions. A session on Hindi and cinema saw participation from celebrities like Ravi Kishan, Chandrakant Bidewai, and Manoj Joshi, who shared perspectives on Hindi’s cultural power and media influence.

The event concluded with a cultural program and valedictory session, celebrating the diverse linguistic and artistic heritage of India.

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, made a remarkable contribution to the national platform. Represented by Akhilesh Pathak (Public Relations Officer & Official Language Secretary) and Rajesh Kumar (Hindi Translator), IIAS actively engaged in conference sessions, reaffirming its commitment to the promotion and progressive use of Hindi in academic and administrative domains.

Their participation was noted as a significant academic representation, aligning with the institute’s ongoing efforts to promote linguistic harmony and intellectual discourse in Hindi.
