Health Minister Reviews Dental Services

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil chaired the Governing Body meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti at Himachal Pradesh Government Dental College, Shimla. During the session, he conducted a review of the institution’s performance and achievements over the past three financial years.

Addressing the issue of staff shortages, especially in Class-IV positions, the Minister recommended that the Governing Council consider outsourcing or hiring support staff through the Rogi Kalyan Samiti to ensure smooth functioning of the college and hospital services.

Dr. Shandil highlighted the State Government’s ongoing commitment to delivering quality healthcare services, especially in rural and remote regions. He emphasized that the introduction of modern techniques and advanced technology has significantly improved healthcare delivery, bringing tangible benefits to patients across the state.

To further strengthen health infrastructure, he informed that the government has initiated recruitment for 200 doctors and 400 nurses. Additionally, he shared that in a recent cabinet meeting held on Monday, approval was granted to establish 28 dialysis centres in Adarsh Swasthya Sansthans across nine districts, aiming to provide advanced treatment facilities closer to people’s homes.

The Minister also stressed the importance of streamlining and enhancing dental health services in the state, ensuring accessibility and quality care for all.

The meeting was attended by MLA Harish Janartha, Secretary Health M. Sudha Devi, Special Secretary Health Ashwani Sharma, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Director Dental Health Services Dr. Satish Chaudhary, Principal of HP Government Dental College Dr. Ashu Gupta, and other key members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti.
