The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, has signed an agreement with Kapih Deep Tech Private Limited, Pune, to support their project titled “Adaptive Digital Twin Framework for Urban Water Distribution Systems: A Conceptual Implementation Strategy for Indian Infrastructure.”
As part of the India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F), TDB is providing conditional grant assistance of ₹4.07 crores towards the total project cost of ₹5.82 crores. The initiative is in collaboration with Israeli partner M/s Reali Technologies Ltd.
This pioneering project aims to develop an AI-powered adaptive digital twin framework to simulate, monitor, and predict urban water distribution performance in real time. Using the RealiteQ Cloud-based SCADA platform integrated with advanced analytics, the solution offers a scalable and cost-effective tool customized for Indian urban water infrastructure.
The project addresses critical challenges such as aging infrastructure, high non-revenue water losses, fragmented monitoring, and resource inefficiencies. Multiple pilot deployments will showcase phased adoption of AI-enabled monitoring, facilitating smoother integration with existing legacy systems and reducing upfront costs.
