As part of the Anti-Drug Campaign, a special awareness program was held today at PM Shri Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Basantpur. The program was attended by Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order), Pankaj Sharma, who motivated students to stay away from drugs.

Addressing the students, Pankaj Sharma said that chitta (synthetic drugs) is extremely harmful to both the body and the mind. The anti-drug campaign encourages children not only to avoid drugs themselves but also to help friends stay away from them. He explained that drug use negatively affects studies, sports, and overall life, and wise children never approach drugs. He urged students to inform a trusted adult such as parents, teachers, or police if they ever come across drugs. By staying away from drugs, students can achieve their dreams and lead a happy and successful life. Sharma emphasized that good friends are those who choose the right path and avoid harmful habits. Drugs are no joke—they can ruin lives. By working together, students can make their schools, neighborhoods, and friendships safe and drug-free.

He further stressed the importance of drug awareness, especially for young people. Students were advised to choose friends who encourage them to make the right choices, spend their free time on exercise, sports, or hobbies, and seek help from family or teachers if they feel tempted by drugs. Pankaj Sharma concluded that together, we can fight against drugs and build a healthy, happy society.

On this occasion, the students also took a pledge to stay away from drugs. Additionally, the Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0 educated students about the harmful effects of tobacco use and encouraged them to stay tobacco-free.
