Amid the circulation of misleading statements in sections of the media regarding the absence of the Opposition from the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) presentation held in Shimla today, it has become necessary to place the factual position on record. It is clarified that the Chief Minister personally extended a formal written invitation to the Leader of the Opposition to participate in the RDG presentation; however, despite this invitation, the Opposition chose not to send any representative to the event.

Contrary to media claims suggesting that the invitation was issued only at the secretary-level and that due protocol was not followed, the facts clearly establish otherwise. In the larger public interest, it is urged that accurate and fact-based information be disseminated by prominently publishing or broadcasting this news along with a copy of the invitation letter sent by the Chief Minister to the Leader of the Opposition, so that the correct facts are placed before the public.
