The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), under NITI Aayog, today launched AI-Preneurs of India, a flagship coffee table book celebrating 45 pioneering AI startups driving real-world solutions across healthcare, education, sustainability, mobility, sports analytics, deep tech, and social impact. The launch took place at Bharat Mandapam during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
This edition marks the 7th in AIM’s Innovations For You series and highlights India’s deep-tech and AI startup ecosystem, featuring ventures from over 30 sector domains and drawing from a nationwide network of Atal Incubation Centres. The book emphasizes a “founder-first” storytelling approach, showcasing not only technological breakthroughs but also the motivations, challenges, and perseverance of India’s AI innovators.
Speaking at the launch, Deepak Bagla said, “AI-Preneurs of India reflects the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for inclusive, ethical, and socially impactful AI. These founders are building AI solutions rooted in India’s realities, aligning with national priorities, and shaping India’s leadership in global AI discourse.”
The launch panel included senior policymakers and ecosystem leaders, including Amneet P Kumar, Rajshekhar Joshi, Jitendra Kumar, Arvind Kumar, and Raghav Chandra.
AI-Preneurs of India positions India as not just a consumer of advanced AI technologies, but as a global contributor driving responsible, purpose-led innovation. The book demonstrates how public innovation infrastructure, sustained incubation support, and mission-driven governance are enabling Indian startups to deliver scalable solutions with worldwide relevance.
