Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday announced ₹10 crore for the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School in Kinnaur district, while directing officials to speed up ongoing works to ensure timely completion.
During his visit to Kalpa, the Chief Minister inspected the under-construction buildings of the Day Boarding School and a sports hostel. He instructed the Public Works Department to accelerate construction and maintain high standards of quality. He also confirmed that the additional funds would be released to support the school project.
In another announcement, Sukhu sanctioned ₹2 crore for the construction of a Balika Ashram within the school premises. He further emphasized the need to fast-track the sports hostel project.
The Chief Minister also directed Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi to closely monitor the progress of both projects.
Earlier, at Reckong Peo, a delegation from the District Ex-Servicemen Association met the Chief Minister seeking financial support for a Sainik Rest House. Accepting their request, Sukhu announced ₹2 crore for the facility.
During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with local residents at Reckong Peo and Kalpa, heard their concerns, and instructed the administration to ensure swift redressal of grievances.
