Kavinder Gupta conveyed warm greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Himachal Day.
In his message, the Governor highlighted the historical importance of April 15, 1948, marking the formation of the state through the merger of 30 princely hill states. He noted that the day stands as a symbol of unity, collective determination, and the shared aspirations of the people.
He emphasized that Himachal Pradesh has long been recognized for its patriotism and spirit of sacrifice, earning the title “Veer Bhoomi.” Paying homage to the state’s soldiers, he praised their courage and supreme sacrifices in protecting the nation.
Reflecting on the celebration of the 79th Himachal Day, the Governor said the state has made significant strides across sectors despite its geographical limitations. He pointed out achievements in education, healthcare, social welfare, infrastructure, and environmental conservation, crediting the people’s dedication and strong leadership for this progress.
Urging citizens to work together for societal well-being, he appealed for a collective commitment to make Himachal Pradesh a drug-free state. He stressed that preserving the sanctity of Devbhoomi depends on keeping the youth away from substance abuse and encouraging their active role in nation-building.
The Governor added that Himachal Day serves as a reminder to strive for inclusive growth and to build a secure, prosperous, and culturally vibrant future for the state.
