A colourful and culturally rich celebration marked the Foundation Day of Gujarat and Maharashtra at Lok Bhavan today, bringing together members of both communities residing in Himachal Pradesh for an evening of unity, exchange, and shared heritage.
Governor Kavinder Gupta invited people from the two states to be part of the celebrations, turning the occasion into a vibrant platform of cultural dialogue and togetherness.
The event came alive with interactions where participants shared glimpses of Gujarat and Maharashtra’s traditions, customs, and cultural legacy, creating a warm atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.
Adding a personal touch to the occasion, the Governor felicitated the guests with traditional Himachali caps and mufflers, symbolizing the warmth and hospitality of Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Gupta said that such celebrations strengthen the spirit of national integration and deepen the feeling of belonging among citizens. He emphasized that India’s true strength lies in its diversity, where multiple languages, cultures, and traditions blend into a single national identity. He also highlighted that the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” continues to guide India’s cultural ethos, and events like these beautifully reflect that spirit.
He further noted that Lok Bhavan serves as a bridge for cultural connection, helping people appreciate diversity while reinforcing unity across the nation.
