A Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness (RISA) was organised today at the Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat, Shimla, jointly by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the BSE Investors Protection Fund (BSE-IPF). The event focused on promoting financial literacy and educating participants about safe investment practices in the capital market.
The seminar aimed to enhance awareness among investors and government officials regarding financial planning, market participation, and protection against fraudulent investment schemes.
Secretary (Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics) Dr. Abhishek Jain attended the programme as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the growing importance of financial awareness in today’s economy and encouraged citizens to make informed and secure investment decisions.
Delivering the keynote address, SEBI Northern Regional Office Deputy General Manager Mridul Rastogi spoke about the functioning of the capital market, investors’ rights, and precautionary measures to prevent cyber frauds. He also stressed the need for greater vigilance while dealing with digital financial transactions.
The seminar concluded with an appeal to strengthen investor education initiatives and promote a safer and more transparent investment environment.
