CM Sukhu has announced a major upgrade to Himachal Pradesh’s medical infrastructure, detailing an investment of ₹500 crore to equip all state medical colleges with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology. Speaking at the inauguration of a public health camp at Kangu in the Nadaun Assembly constituency, he highlighted that these advanced machines, currently available only at premier institutes like AIIMS Delhi, will bring highly accurate diagnostic services to local residents without delay.
To further ensure top-quality treatment close to home, the state government is expanding specialized care across all 70 Adarsh Medical Institutions through a massive hiring drive. The government plans to recruit 300 Medical Officers, 200 specialist doctors, and 150 super-specialist doctors. As part of this rollout, medical personnel have already been posted to hospitals in Nadaun, Kangu, Galore, and Dhaneta, with additional health camps set to be organized throughout the region.
The Chief Minister also shared key developments in education and infrastructure, announcing the upcoming inauguration of Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College at Jolsappar. This campus will host North India’s first Allied Health Sciences institution, with admissions directed to start from the current academic session. Additionally, the Senior Secondary School at Kangu has been designated as a Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School, with construction for both secondary and primary school buildings beginning soon to offer modern educational amenities.
Concluding his address, Chief Minister Sukhu reaffirmed that despite fiscal challenges, Himachal Pradesh is making steady strides toward self-reliance. He assured the public that key sectors like health and education will continue to receive uninterrupted financial support to meet the needs of the state’s citizens.
