To address the growing demand for specialized medical professionals, the Himachal Pradesh Government is setting up a dedicated Allied and Healthcare College in Hamirpur with 330 seats. To ensure immediate operational readiness, ₹6.87 crore has been sanctioned for machinery and equipment. The new institute will offer B.Sc. degrees (60 seats each) in Laboratory Sciences, Radiology, Anesthesia, Optometry, and Physiotherapy, alongside a 30-seat Dialysis Technician course.

Additionally, starting from the 2026–27 academic year, a Bachelor of Radiation Therapy Technology course (30 seats each) will launch at IGMC Shimla and Dr. RPGMC Tanda. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized that these initiatives build on the 2025 seat expansion across state medical colleges, ensuring local youth can access high-quality technical education without leaving the state while strengthening Himachal’s overall medical infrastructure.
