During an inspiring and heartfelt interaction with students at the CBSE school in Kaza, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu listened closely to young minds, addressed their questions with warmth, and made landmark announcements for the region’s educational future. The students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for affiliating their institution with the CBSE, noting that access to such a curriculum in the remote Spiti Valley has unlocked unprecedented learning horizons. When students voiced practical challenges regarding hostel staffing, including the need for a cook, cleaning personnel, and a female warden, alongside issues of cold classrooms and poor lighting, the administration acted swiftly. The Chief Minister announced plans to construct separate hostels for boys and girls, alongside a dedicated residential block for teachers, assuring that adequate funds would be released to completely upgrade the school infrastructure ahead of the upcoming academic session. Responding to a student’s call for environmental awareness, he emphasized that protecting nature is paramount to human survival.
In a major policy revelation, the Chief Minister shared that the state government is actively preparing a comprehensive syllabus to introduce moral education into the school curriculum starting next academic session. Addressing further aspirations for higher education and careers, he assured students that special competitive exam coaching, skill-training programs, and tourism-focused vocational courses would be established locally, sparing children the hardship of traveling outside the valley for quality preparation. Highlighting ongoing regional transformations—from the upcoming ice hockey stadium to surging tourism—he encouraged the students to dream big, set clear goals, and work diligently toward shaping a brighter tomorrow.
