Demonstrating seamless administrative efficiency, the Himachal Pradesh Police successfully managed a massive influx of over 10.25 lakh devotees during the nine-day Ashwin Navratri festival, earning high praise from CM Sukhu. Expressing his deep appreciation for the force’s unwavering dedication, the Chief Minister commended police personnel, district administrations, temple trusts, and Home Guards for ensuring a safe, orderly, and peaceful pilgrimage across seven prominent Shakti Peeths in the state.
Managing over 10.25 lakh pilgrims and more than 1.04 lakh vehicles across hilly terrain and narrow approach roads required meticulous planning, round-the-clock queue regulation, and proactive traffic coordination. Among the revered shrines, Naina Devi Ji recorded the highest footfall with 3,95,226 devotees, followed by Jawalamukhi Ji (1,80,000), Chintpurni Ji (1,39,000), Bala Sundri Ji, Trilokpur (1,06,600), Chamunda Devi Ji (70,500), Bajreshwari Devi Ji (69,400), and Baglamukhi Ji (65,000). CM Sukhu particularly highlighted the tireless efforts of officers on duty and urged citizens and visitors to utilize the ERSS-112 emergency helpline whenever in need.
Welcoming the Chief Minister’s commendation, Director General of Police Ashok Tewari expressed gratitude and noted that such recognition serves as a powerful morale booster for the entire force. He reiterated the state police department’s firm commitment to delivering sensitive, professional, and high-standard public service for all pilgrims and tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh.
