In a major effort to streamline public transparency and hone administrative efficiency, the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department organized a comprehensive one-day training workshop on the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, at its Shimla headquarters. Chaired by the Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration), the session brought together senior forest officers, Public Information Officers (PIOs), and key personnel to deepen their legal grasp and sharpen departmental responses under the Act.
Distinguished RTI expert Prof. Rajendra Kapoor led the training in a hybrid format, delivering in-depth guidance on statutory response timelines, appeal workflows, proactive disclosure, and specific exemption clauses. Tackling real-world administrative hurdles, Prof. Kapoor shared practical strategies to navigate complex information requests while strictly maintaining legal compliance. The interactive session equipped officers with actionable insights to uphold transparency, uphold good governance, and process public inquiries with greater speed and accuracy.
