CM Sukhu presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwaar’ initiative at Mehla, a remote village in the Bharmaur assembly constituency of Chamba district. Marking a historic first, the CM stayed overnight in a village home to gain direct, first-hand insight into the daily challenges faced by the local residents. Upon his arrival, the local community accorded him a warm welcome with traditional attire and folk music. During his visit, CM Sukhu interacted with local residents, Mahila Mandals, and Yuvak Mandals, directing officials to ensure the swift resolution of all public grievances.
Highlighting key welfare decisions, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will launch the ‘Mukhya Mantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana’ next month, with 172 families already identified in Mehla gram panchayat. Under this scheme, eligible women aged between 21 and 59 years will receive ₹1,500 per month, with benefits extending to all eligible women even within the same family. To strengthen local education and agriculture, he declared that a CBSE school will become operational in Mehla from the upcoming academic session. Additionally, the state has significantly boosted procurement prices for natural barley to ₹80 per kg, cow’s milk to ₹61 per kg, and buffalo’s milk to ₹71 per kg, alongside developing a dedicated scheme to support the Gaddi community in securing better meat prices.
Addressing governance and administrative reforms, CM Sukhu reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, which has helped generate additional state revenue. He noted that following paper leaks and irregularities, the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC) was dissolved, and all key recruitment processes have now been fully computerized to ensure complete transparency for meritorious candidates. Reaffirming the state’s commitment to reaching the most remote hilly communities, he assured that vacant posts across the health, education, and administrative departments are being filled on a priority basis to ensure smooth public service delivery.
