AuckyFrench20517 (28)Healthy entertainment is a beautiful blend of stimuli that can connect with the viewer at a sentimental level, then sow the seeds of a certain idea or feed the mind with inspiration and courage and that what exactly students of French House of Auckland House Girls School did as they put up a cultural programme during the celebrations.

AuckyFrench20517 (17)The day began with welcoming of School Principal Sunita John and Michael A John by gifting then a bouquet of flowers. Student performed a welcome dance song “Kanha So Ja Jara” from Bahubali 2 which was followed by a cute performance on song “Honey Bunny” where students in their bright dresses entertained all.

Then came turn for some entertainment via English Play “Dumb Wife”, a comedy in two acts. The story of the play revolves around a rich man who has a large, fanciful house and a special servant to look after him. He enjoys the life of luxury. The use of the word dumb in this context is not an insult on intelligence, but demonstrates the fact that wife does not have the ability to speak. Seeing the situation, the boy decides to marry her because she is exactly the kind of girl he wanted. She doesn’t talk, that means she would never fight or irritate him. He quickly notices that the advantages that he thought he would receive after his marriage would not be coming so easily. He no longer can overlook his wife’s inability to talk. This drives him to frustration, an emotion that he does not commonly feel. He realizes that he got married in haste not realizing that communication is a vital part of a marriage. After weeks he realizes his fault and decides to take her to a doctor. The doctor cures her of her ailment and she can speak. Now that she can speak, she talks so much that the husband is annoyed to an extent that he decides to go to the doctor to fix the problem. Finding no solution to the problem, he decides to go deaf.

Hindi play “Ma” reflected on the importance of a mother in one’s life as often we all complain about her ways but the moment she is replaced or taken away we realize that she is the best and no one can ever replace her.

A variety of dances including Punjabi, Harayanvi, Korean and Goan were also presented that were enjoyed by all.

The show ended with a finale dance by the students of Class XII which was full of energy. The Principal appreciated the efforts of all and thanked them all for putting up such a wonderful show for all and making everyone’s morning bright and cheerful.
