In order to show our respect and love towards Mother Earth in a befitting manner, students of Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Mohali celebrated the World Environment Day on this day.

For nature friendly environment, a thoughtful message was given to the students on nature conservation. The school in collaboration with the Punjab Pollution Control Board  organized a poster making competition and poem recitation at “North Country Mall” and staged a play titled “To Save Our Earth” to address major environmental issues like increasing global warming, the booming illegal trade in wildlife eroding Earth’s biodiversity, robbing natural heritage and deforestation leading to climatic changes etc.

The real celebration started with a dance “The Earth is My Home”, on 3 R’s Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and a beautiful meaningful song on need for conserving nature.

The Mall echoed with the slogan “Cry for the Mother Earth”.

School Principal Poonam Sharma said that a pledge was taken by all the students and teachers to protect the Environment by minimizing wastage of natural resources and by growing more trees.
