CM Thanks Health Care Workers in Achieving Target of First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccination

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while interacting with the Health Care workers in the State virtually from Shimla today thanked them for making Himachal Pradesh proud by achieving the target of cent percent first dose of vaccination to above the age of 18 years population.
Chief Minister said that now the aim must be to achieve the target of being first State of the country with cent percent vaccination of its adult population. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be addressing the doctors, para medical staff and other front line workers besides people of the State for achieving this unique feat. He said that Prime Minister would also interact with few frontline workers who have performed exceptionally well in this field.

Jai Ram Thakur also interacted with several health workers including Neema Devi from Malana of district Kullu, Karmo Devi of Una and Dr. Rahul posted at Dodra Kwar in district Shimla besides few other people who have contributed immensely in ensuring effective covid-19 vaccination. He said that due to difficult terrain and geographical conditions achieving the target was quite difficult but this all was possible due to hard work and motivation of the health workers.

Chief Minister also appreciated the role of ASHA workers in Active Case Finding Campaign launched by the State Government during the first wave of corona pandemic to identify to the people with co-morbidities.

Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that the State has succeeded in effectively fighting the pandemic due to able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that ASHA workers and other health workers have not only worked hard to achieve this feat but also motivated the people to get themselves vaccinated.

Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and asked the health workers to maintain zero wastage of vaccine in the State. Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
