A vibe was created in Shimla City by the organizers of Maya Bazaar as they tried to create a safe space and a platform to start a secondary economy so that they can grow and move to different cities. Shimla DC Aditya Negi said, “The artists and entrepreneurs from the LGBTQIA have showcased their products, skills, and their expertise and this is a very good endevour and I am happy to see their work. I would want that more such events should be organized in the future as people are not really aware about the community as such and there is a lot of miscommunication and misinformation in the society as a whole, hence the people don’t know what the community stands for. Such events go a long way to encourage and I congratulate the organizers.”
Each entrepreneur had a story to share, whether it was their coming out story, or about their struggles or acceptance but the colours of being in love and in peace among themselves was most infectious. Yes, they are different, they are unique, but they are parts of our lives. Gender identification does not make them unique but their amazing creativity does. The finesse with which they create their art, adds beauty to the world.
The activities held during the second day were equally engaging and mesmerising as open mic was held, along with a scintillating performance by Ek Pahadi Ladka. The Drag Performances by ‘Ruby‘ ‘Melancolia’ & ‘Drag King Naaz‘ were equally riveting. (Click To See All Videos)
