Signing of Drone MoUs Between Educational Institutes and IGRUA

A spokesperson of the department of Information Technology informed here today that 6 Universities of Himachal Pradesh, 50 Degree Colleges and Technical Education Department entered into MoU with Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) for running Drone Flying Training related skill development courses in order to create future ready students and empowering them to access the job opportunities embedded in Drone sector. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Principal Secretary (Education) Dr. Rajneesh.

The spokesperson said that this is the next major step taken by the State Government towards promotion of the Drone sector in the State, in keeping with provisions of Drone Policy-2022 which has recently been approved by the Cabinet during its meeting held on 06th June, 2022. It will help in the creation of licensed manpower pool and skill development through various Drone related courses, which are being finalized by the Government of India under National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP) and National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). Linkage of Drone related courses with the National Skill Qualification Framework would empower students to access the job opportunities embedded in the Drone sector, he added.
