A National level Workshop held with States/UTs on National Scholarship Portal

PIB Delhi – A National Workshop with the State Nodal Officers of National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) was hung on twentieth September, 2022. State Schooling Officials of States and UTs went to the Studio which was managed by Ms. L.S. Changsan, Extra Secretary Division of School Training and Education. For the ongoing year 2022-23, to facilitate enlistment of new applications as well as restorations the studio was coordinated. On the occasion, Ms Changsan spoke about the importance of timely scholarship payments to children from economically weaker sections and the need for prompt verification of applications by State Level Officers.

Nodal Official from NSP made a show with respect to the enlistment and check process on the NSP Entry which was trailed by nitty gritty connection between State Govt authorities and officials from the Service of Training, DBT and NSP on the execution modalities associated with the enrollment, confirmation and installment cycle of NMMSS grants online through the Public Grant gateway. Under the ‘Public Means-cum-Legitimacy Grant Plan’ grants are granted to praiseworthy understudies of financially more vulnerable segments to capture their drop out at class VIII and urge them to proceed with their schooling at auxiliary stage. One lakh new grants are granted to chosen understudies from class IX consistently and their continuation/restoration in classes X to XII for understudies concentrating on in State Government, Government-helped and nearby body schools. How much grant is Rs. 12000/ – per annum.

The Public Means cum Legitimacy Grant Plan (NMMSS) is boarded on the Public Grant Entryway (NSP) – a one stop stage for grant plans given to understudies. NMMSS grants are dispensed straightforwardly into the ledgers of chosen understudies by electronic exchange through Open Monetary Administration Framework (PFMS) following DBT mode. This is a 100 percent midway supported plot. Understudies whose parental pay from all sources isn’t more than Rs. 3,50,000/ – per annum are qualified to benefit the grants. The understudies should have least of 55% imprints or comparable grade in Class VII assessment for showing up in the choice test for grant of grant (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST understudies).
