R.S. Amar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India and Pitambar Agarwal, Deputy General Manager, RBI called on Governor, Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan, today. The Regional Director informed the Governor about various functions of the RBI. He also briefed about the different sections of RBI under Shimla Regional Office and apprised that the Reserve Bank of India Ombudsman (ORBIO) Office will soon start functioning at Shimla Regional Office.
Presently, all the complaints of Himachal Pradesh were being handled by ORBIO, Chandigarh and after the commencement of ORBIO here in Shimla, all the complaints pertaining to RBI regulated entities such as Scheduled Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks, Scheduled Co-operative Banks, NBFCs, operating in Himachal Pradesh would be resolved at Shimla Regional Office, he said. The Governor appreciated their efforts towards financial literacy in Himachal Pradesh and hoped that people of the State would benefit from the facilities being made available by the RBI.
