In anticipation of significant rainfall as forecasted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a proactive step has been taken to ensure the safety of the residents of Shimla. Shimla Educational Institutions Closed For 2 Days Due To Heavy Rainfall Predictions

In response to the potentially unsafe weather conditions, it has been mandated that all government and private educational institutions, universities, colleges, schools, vocational training centers, and Anganwari centers in the district will remain closed for two consecutive days, specifically on the 23rd and 24th of August, 2023.

This decisive action has been taken with the paramount concern for the safety and well-being of students, staff, trainees, and all individuals associated with these educational institutions. By closing these institutions temporarily, the District Disaster Management Authority aims to prevent any risks associated with travel and exposure to potentially hazardous conditions. The closure order is a crucial measure to ensure public safety and minimize any potential impact from the expected heavy rainfall.

Heads of the educational institutions have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring strict compliance with these orders. The closure is not only a precautionary step but also a testament to the commitment of the local authorities in Shimla to prioritize the safety of its residents and the community at large.
