Delhi Public School, Shimla hosted its inaugural annual day on September 15th, entrancing the audience with a spectacular showcase of talent and creativity. The esteemed Chief Guest was Mr. Chamla Kiran Kumar Reddy, Member of the Parliament, Telangana. The Guests of Honour included Mr. Anirudh Singh, Cabinet Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Lt. General Atulaya Solanki, A.V.M, S.M. Retd., Mrs. Anuradha Sharma, Former Regional Officer, D.A.V. Society, Mr. Anil Walia, Pro-Vice Chairman, Delhi Public School, Shimla, Dr. Puneet Mahajan, Professor, I.G.M.C, Shimla, and Adv. Dalip Sharma, Additional Advocate, High Court of Shimla.
The event kicked off with a warm reception for the Chief Guest, dignitaries, and parents by Mr. Anil Walia, Pro VC of the school. The school’s progress report was presented by the school headmistress, Ms. Kirti Pandey, who underscored the significance of fostering creativity and self-expression during the formative years. In her address, she underscored the school’s dedication to holistic education, encompassing not only academic excellence but also co-curricular activities that encourage students to explore their potential through Ullas, Utsuk, and Utkrisht.
The evening commenced with a spellbinding Vandana by classes I and II, followed by a group recitation by class III. Classes Nursery and Lower Kindergarten mesmerized the audience with their captivating dance performances. An enchanting Hindi play, “Ek Daastaan Dosti Ki,” was brought to life by the students of Upper Kindergarten, Classes I, and II.
The audience was captivated by the enchanting performance of Believers by the students of Upper Kindergarten, classes I, II, and III. The Little Munchkins of Lower Kindergarten presented a delightful poem dedicated to Delhi Public School, Shimla. The English Play, based on the European folk tale “The Little Red Riding Hood,” dazzled the audience with the students’ confidence and acting prowess, reflecting their hard work and dedication in their performances.
The diverse range of performances enthralled the audience, which included parents, teachers, and esteemed guests, demonstrating the remarkable potential of the students and the school’s commitment to providing an enriching environment for its young learners.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the function a grand success.
