After watching the children’s film “Crossings” at Lok Bhavan today, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla appreciated the film for effectively spreading awareness about climate change and environmental protection among children. He lauded National Film Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Mohan for conveying a sensitive and impactful message through the film, which highlights the consequences of human actions on nature and stresses the need to conserve the environment for future generations.
Filmmaker Vivek Mohan, a native of Shimla, shared that “Crossings” is a short film inspired by two real-life incidents and focuses on issues related to global warming and climate change. He said the film carries forward the message earlier portrayed in his film “For Whom the Jingle Bells Toll,” emphasizing that the Earth is not inherited from our ancestors but borrowed from our children.
Commending the creative effort, the Governor said that such films play an important role in building environmental consciousness, particularly among children. He noted that Himachal Pradesh is blessed with rich natural beauty, and it is the collective responsibility of society to protect and preserve it. Films like “Crossings,” he added, significantly contribute to promoting environmental awareness and deserve wide appreciation.
