ABHI (Action for Barrier – Free Handicapped Integration) today celebrated its 15th Founder’s Day, at Masonic Hall, The Mall Shimla. During the celebration Chief Secretary Shrikant Baldi and his wife Uma Baldi graced the occasion as the chief guest. Uma has also been associated with the NGO taking care of the special children since quiet a long time.
Students of ABHI presented a cultural programme where they danced to the tunes of songs like “Bam Bam Bhole”, “Pahri Natti” and a “Punjabi song”. Highlight of the day was a song sung by a very talented child who inspite of being blind painted a beautiful picture for others through his melodious voice. (CLICK TO SEE ALL VIDEOS)
Speaking on the occasion Baldi said that each child is talented in his/her own way and God has not sent even a single one without any talent may that be dance, golden voice or any other to name. He lauded the role played by ABHI in making the lives of special children better and he also stressed on the need to have more such organizations to give hope to such children and their parents. He also extended his hand to help ABHI in any way possible whenever the need arises.
The day ended on a positive note as Meenu Sood the founder of ABHI presented gifts to special children from Arushi, Udaan and Government School participants.
