Since 1994, Abhivyakti has been actively promoting theatre, art, and culture. Continuing this legacy, the organization recently conducted a one-month theatre workshop for children in Raudi village, Dharampur subdivision, Solan district.

Held during the winter vacation, the workshop saw enthusiastic participation from students of the Government School in Raudi. The children received hands-on training in acting, singing, dance, physical exercises, breathing and voice modulation techniques, along with technical theatre skills such as stage design, costume creation, and prop-making. Parents appreciated the workshop as a constructive way for children to spend their holidays, diverting them from television and mobile screens.

As part of the creative process, the children developed an original play titled “Manav OR Danav” (Human or Demon), exploring the relationship between humans and nature. The play highlights the harmonious coexistence that indigenous communities once shared with forests, rivers, mountains, and animals—treating them as living companions and taking only what was necessary while prioritizing conservation.

In contrast, the performance critiques modern human greed and unchecked consumption, which have led to deforestation, river pollution, and ecological imbalance, metaphorically turning humans into “demons.” The play delivers a powerful environmental message: if this destructive mindset continues, the very survival of humanity is at risk.

All sets, costumes, and props were designed and made entirely by the children themselves, fostering creativity, teamwork, and imagination.

The play will be staged on 14 and 15 February 2026 at 3:00 PM at Bliss Auditorium, Raudi. Abhivyakti warmly invites art enthusiasts and the public to attend and support the young performers.
