The notification regarding opening of Sub Tehsil at Saho would be made soon and parking would be constructed at Saho to facilitate the people. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated this while addressing a public meeting at Saho in Chamba Vidhan Sabha area of Chamba district today. Jai Ram Thakur said that the Chamba district has been declared as an aspirational district by the Union Government so as to ensure that the district gets additional funds for its developmental needs. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special attachment towards the State and its people and has visited the State seven times during the last about four and a half years. He said that the Prime Minister in his ‘Man Ki Baat’ programme telecast yesterday made special reference to the Minjar fair of Chamba.
Chief Minister said that people of the country has out rightly rejected the Congress party. He said that the BJP won in all the four states where elections were held recently. He said that now it was the turn of Himachal Pradesh to reject the Congress party. He also accused the Congress party for the economic crisis in the State. He said that unmindful expenditure and unplanned development by the previous Government was the root cause of financial crunch in the State. Jai Ram Thakur said that the present tenure of the State Government remained dedicated towards the welfare and upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden. He said that social security pension, Sahara Yojna, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, HIMCARE etc were proving boon to lakhs of people of the State. He said that over Rs. 1300 crore were being spent every year on providing social security pension to the needy, as compared to Rs. 400 crore being spent during the Congress tenure. He said that over 20,000 families with chronically ill patients were being provided Rs. 3000 per month under the Sahara Yojna. He said that the motto of the present Government was ‘Jahan Gareeb, Wahan Sarkar’.
Chief Minister said that the State Government was providing 50 percent concession on fare in Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses to the women commuters and free power upto 125 units per month being provided to the electricity consumers. He said that the State Government was also providing free water in rural areas of the State. He said that it was surprising this decision was not going well with the Congress leaders. These leaders should voluntarily give up the free power being provided to the consumers and even if they wish they can even pay the bills of other consumers, he added. Chief Minister also performed puja at the famous Shiv temple Saho and said that the roof of the temple would be repaired soon. MLA Chamba Pawan Nayyar while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked the Chief Minister for acceding to all the demands of the area during his earlier visit to the district. He said that the Gujjar community of the area were rock solid behind the present State Government and the Chief Minister. He said that the previous State Government bluffed the people of the State by falsely publicizing the Minjar was an international fair, whereas the truth was that it was the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who made notification regarding according international level fair status to Minjar fair of Chamba.
