Agility and Physical Fitness Witnessed during Sports Day — St. Thomas School Jaipur

Sports and games are an important part of our life. Games make us mentally and physically fit deems perfect as well as holds true for the saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. The Annual Sports Day of pre-primary section of St. Thomas School DCM was held in the campus. Chairman Rev. Father Biju Daniel presided as the chief guest, while others present were Trustee Y. Vergese, Secretary Shaji Thomas who were warmly greeted by the School Headmistress Nivedita Doegar.

The morning began with the races as one could see excited children cheering for their favourite athletes. The little ones participated in various races like the flat race, ready to school, biscuit race, sack race, mask race, Santa race, backward race, balancing the book race, lemon and spoon race among others. You win some, you lose some, but the happiness on the kids’ faces and cheerful expressions was priceless.

Nursery: Flat Race
– 1st Gaurav Aludia, 2nd Gajraj Singh, 3rd Anisha; Hopping Race – 1st Gajraj, 2nd Anisha, 3rd Gaurav.
LKG: Backward Race – 1st Agam, 2nd Seerat Kaur, 3rd Kanishka; Biscuit Race – 1st Mohit Jangid, 2nd Garvit, 3rd Jenny; Frog Race – 1st Angel, 2nd Kanishka, 3rd Seerat.
UKG: Backward Race – 1st Shaurya, 2nd Divyanshi, 3rd Arvish; Lemon and Spoon Race – 1st Nakshatra, 2nd Lakshya, 3rd Daivik; Balancing the Book Race – 1st Vivek, 2nd Harshika, 3rd Ojaswini; Ready to School Race – 1st Divyanshi, 2nd Vivek, 3rd Shaurya; Sack Race – 1st Daivik, 2nd Harshika, 3rd Ojaswini.
Class I: Lemon and Spoon Race – 1st Tanish Verma, 2nd Vansh Jhalla, 3rd Bhanu Pratap Singh; Flat  Race – 1st Vansh Jhalla, 2nd Tanish Verma, 3rd Aayush Jangid; Ready to School – 1st Bhanu Pratap Singh, 2nd Veer Samuel, 3rd Mehul; Sack Race – 1st Divyanshi Prajapat, 2nd Amit Sharma, 3rd Veer Samuel.

The Senior School Sports Day was held a day later in the Girdharipura School Campus. Rev. Father Biju Daniel was the chief guest, while Trustee Y. Vergese, Secretary Shahji Thomas, Committee member, School Principal  Sonal Sharma, Vice Principal Punamma Mathay and Headmistress Nivedita Doegar were present. The Torch was lit in St. Thomas Church DCM and was brought to St. Thomas Girdharipura  School by the students. The chief guest lit the torch and declared the sports open.

The day began with the March Past, which was followed by various races for the students. These included races such as bursting the balloons, 50, 100 and 500 meter races, short put, long jump and high jump among other competitive races. In the long jump Sachin and Shubham were first and second respectively.

Medals and certificates were awarded to Pre-Primary Children of St Thomas School DCM and St Thomas School Girdharipura on Christmas Day by Rev. Father Biju Daniel and members of the managing committee who congratulated all on their amazing performances and wished them all the very best for future endevours.
