AI Applications in Forensics: Enhancing Accuracy in Criminal Investigations

A one-day training programme on (AI) Artificial Intelligence in Forensics–A Future Road Map to Criminal Investigation was organized at the Directorate of Forensic Services Junga in Shimla.

A Spokesperson of the department of Forensic Services said that the programme provided insights into AI applications in forensic science and highlights its role in cybercrime analysis, facial recognition, digital forensics, speech analysis, document verification, fingerprint analysis and DNA matching. He said that AI-driven methods can enhance accuracy and efficiency in crime investigations.

Director of Forensic Services Dr. Meenakshi Mahajan encouraged forensic experts to integrate AI-based methodologies for modern crime case analysis and said that AI would significantly improve forensic efficiency and revolutionize crime investigations.

The Spokesperson further said that the training programme would serve as a vital platform for equipping forensic professionals with advanced AI-driven techniques, further strengthening forensic capabilities in the state.
