All Girls Trekking Expedition ‘Himtrek’ concludes on a high note

The Himtrek 1 and 2 camps, conducted by the 1 HP Girls Battalion NCC Solan under the aegis of the Directorate General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC), concluded successfully on June 26, 2024. The camps were held from June 5 to June 26, 2024, and were organized on behalf of the Shimla Group. These camps aimed to provide cadets with valuable experiences in leadership, cultural diversity, and environmental awareness.

The Himtrek 1 and 2 camps concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on all participants. Camp commandant, Colonel Sanjay Shandil, played a pivotal role in ensuring the camps’ success. His dynamic leadership and unwavering commitment to the cadets’ development were instrumental in achieving the camp’s objectives.

During the camps, cadets had the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Dhauladhar ranges. They visited various temples, monasteries, the famous cricket stadium, and war memorials. These visits provided the cadets with a deep appreciation for the region’s cultural and historical significance. Cadets also visited the Vidhan Sabha, where they gained insights into its functioning and the legislative process.

Under the guidance of Colonel Sanjay Shandil, the cadets participated in various activities that enhanced their leadership skills, teamwork, and discipline. The experience fostered personal growth and prepared them for future challenges.

The camps brought together cadets from different regions of India, providing them with an opportunity to understand and appreciate India’s diverse culture. Cadets also gained knowledge about the local flora and fauna, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.
