Anchorages’ Angels Rock the Show !

Keekli Reporter, 24th August, 2013, Shimla

The Parent’s Day celebrations held at Anchorage Pre-School, Shimla ended on a high note sending across the message of peace, unity and poverty alleviation as well as shortcomings that plague our society today through the dramatic performances by the children on the song “Heal the World”. Children in their colourful dresses and makeup were a delight to see and the innocence with which they performed was heart-warming and enchanting.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr ADN Bajpai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University and soon after his arrival the show started with the welcome song Teri Hai Zameen, which was sung by all the students of the Anchorage Pre-School. This was followed by the bubbly and jumpy performance — the butterfly dance — by the kids, namely, Akansh, Toshik, Arunim, Akashaj, Aaran, Aarav, Aragya, Jatin, Shivansh and Krishav. Every performance has a lively Punjabi dance and the little girls from this school perfectly showcased their talent and of course some groovy move on Jaggo song. Avni, Seerat, Rudrashi, Tavisha, Aradhya, Bhavya and Kanika showed some real talent and there was no sign of any nervousness among these young artists.

A word of appreciation for the Principal, Vibha Kanwar and the teachers who put in two months hard work to put up such an amazing show. Pawna Devi, mother of Avinash Khanna said, “My son’s performance had improved since he has joined this school. The patience and the level of commitment with which the teachers teach are commendable as I can see the difference in my child.” Grandparents of Akshaj Chauhan were equally thrilled to see the performance of their grand kid and were happy to see how quickly kids were learning new things by new innovative methods adopted in schools to teach children.

When children are so creative then surely moms cannot be left behind as super moms — Shivani, Pawna, Amisha, Anuradha and Mamta — too rocked the stage by participating in the annual function displaying their talents through a beautiful dance performance on a melody of old Hindi songs. Ex-students of Anchorage Pre-School too participated on the lively number of Badtameez Dil, which of course had the parents grooving on their seats. This was followed by the Krishan Raas Leela performance by the tiny tots that thrilled one and all.

On conclusion, Dr ADN Bajpai praised the parents for sending their wards to such good schools and applauded the children for their confidence and poise with which they performed, and at the same time admitted that he still had stage fright whenever called upon to give a speech. He further emphasized the importance of Indian culture and values, which was the main reason for the success of Indians in all spheres of life.
