Tiny tots of Anchorage Pre School won the hearts of the chief guest, MLA Suresh Bhardwaj and parents with their sweet and bubbly dance performances during their annual function held at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. The event began with a brief introduction about the hon’ble minister and lighting of the lamp, as he was accompanied by School Principal Vibha Kanwar, Mrs and Mr Singh and Mr Bhullar. The theme of the event was ‘Incredible India’ and the rich and vibrant colours of our states were brought to life by the kids. Soon the little ones took over the stage dressed as god and goddess — Sri Ganesha, Shiv, Radha Krishna, and Hanuman — invoking the blessings of the Gods.

Unconscious of their surroundings or the fact that they were performing on a stage in front of a huge audience, each and every Anchorite stepped up to move and groove to the music. Admay, Arnav, Serisha, Ishan, Arjit, Bhavesh, Yaksh, Aaditya, Sanidhya, Sanvi, Kavya, Divyansh, Abhigya, Jatin, Ritanjali, Manseerat, Drishty, Kabir, Aakashiptika and Ansh, all lovingly and with complete innocence gave some very sweet performances. The boys then took the stage and performed the Durga Puja Dance brining the colours of Bengal alive, which was followed by another spicy number from Goa.

The culture and costumes of Kashmir were seen with beautifully dressed girls carrying their flower in a cane baskets, while boys performed on another foot tapping number from the South. They all received a huge round of applause from all the parents present, enjoying the evening and the fact that their kids were performing so well on the stage. The grand finale was a group dance by all the kids accompanied with their teachers Ambika and Ritu on the song “Bharat Humko Jaan Sey Pyara Hai”.

An additional feature of the programme was the energetic and thrilling dances on Bollywood hit numbers by the Rock Dance Company, headed by Rinku Khan, in which quite a number of kids participated and made their dance teacher proud with some great acts.

Chief Guest MLA Bhardwaj then addressed all present and said, “It is very commendable to see these tiny tots performing so well on the stage with such confidence as this is the stepping stone to their future endevour”. He also praised the teachers and support staff for their noteworthy contributions. The minister then presented certificates and gifts to all the kids.
