Auckland Boys Amaze Parents with Creative Craft Display

The Art & Craft Exhibition of Auckland House School for Boys, for classes Nursery to XII was held here today as Vijay Singh Thakur, Principal SD Senior Secondary School, Shimla, presided as the chief guest. School Principal Michael A John, Director Principal Sunit John, Auckland House School and school staff were also present. Students of Nursery to Class XII exhibited their creative skills by making constructive use of different waste materials like plastic bottles, flower vase, ice cream sticks and paper.

In the junior section various items like photo frames, key rings, piggie banks, best out of waste, hand puppets masks, foot mats using stones and hand monsters using quilling were displayed.

The senior classes showcased their artistic skill by making a variety of models and charts on various subjects and also explained them to the parents. The working models of electric circuit, volcanoes, the process of photosynthesis were the main attractions of the exhibition. Hemansh Mehta was a live model who represented a drama piece from William Shakespeare’s renowned play The Merchant of Venice; he presented the speech of Shylock, the antagonist of the play. His performance was highly appreciated by the chief guest and the parents.

The art and craft works further consisted of Mayur paintings, along with nature scapes, sequin work, Zari, Jal Pari, day and night, 3-D among many others. Other items displayed were glittery balls, letter and key holders, pipe and bead curtain strings, wooden craft and cushion covers. The parents also supported and encouraged the children by visiting the exhibition in large numbers.

Principal Thakur appreciated and applauded the hard work put in by the students and the staff members of the school.
