Auckland House School for Boys was buzzing with excitement on August 2, 2023, as it played host to a captivating Inter-House English Dramatics Competition. The event showcased the remarkable talents of students from Durrant, French, Lefroy, and Matthew Houses, captivating the audience with their theatrical prowess.

Enthusiastic Participation Creates a Theatrical Spectacle

The four competing Houses—Durrant, French, Lefroy, and Matthew—competed head-to-head in a battle of creativity and expression. With boundless enthusiasm and unbridled zeal, students took to the stage, delivering mesmerizing performances that left the audience spellbound.

Esteemed Panel of Judges

The event was graced by a distinguished panel of judges who brought their expertise and insights to the competition. Dr. Mita Biswas, Former Professor of English Literature at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla; Mr. Girish Minocha, CEO of Minchy’s Food Products, Shimla, and a prominent figure in the world of theatre; and Mrs. Rose Lal, Senior Faculty Member at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, formed the discerning jury that evaluated the performances.

Matthew House Emerges Victorious

As the curtains drew to a close, Matthew House emerged triumphant, securing the first position with a captivating and impactful performance. Durrant House secured the second position, while French House claimed the third spot. The competition was fierce, but the exceptional talents of all participants shone through, earning them well-deserved praise from the esteemed judges.

Gunagya Gupta Shines as Overall Best Actor

In recognition of exceptional individual performances, Gunagya Gupta was honored with the title of the overall best actor. His exceptional portrayal brought a dynamic and authentic presence to the stage, earning him the admiration of both judges and audience members.
