Kavinder Gupta today released the book Sharda Peeth : Sati Desh Kashmir, authored by Acharya Madan, during a ceremony highlighting Kashmir’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy.
Describing the publication as a significant scholarly contribution, the Governor said the book brings renewed attention to the ancient heritage of Sharda Peeth, regarded as one of the most revered centres of learning, wisdom, and Sanatan tradition in Indian civilization.
He praised Acharya Madan for presenting a research-based work that explores the historical, religious, and cultural importance of Sharda Peeth and its deep-rooted connection with Kashmir’s identity. According to the Governor, such literature plays a crucial role in reconnecting younger generations with the nation’s civilizational heritage.
Highlighting Kashmir’s historical importance as a centre of spirituality and scholarship, Kavinder Gupta said the book offers valuable insights into the Sharda civilization, Sanskrit learning, and the traditions associated with Maa Sharda. He expressed hope that the publication would encourage academic discussion and deeper exploration of Kashmir’s ancient cultural legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Madan said the book aims to revive awareness about Sharda Peeth’s historical significance and preserve the cultural identity linked with the Sharda civilization.
Scholars, intellectuals, and devotees associated with Vishwa Hindu Peeth, including Jasbir Singh Khurana and Sanjay Kumar Maini, were also present at the event.
