Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers. A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted at the end as one lives several lives while reading it.
To encourage and inculcate the taste for books St. Thomas’ School, Shimla, organized three days long book fair in the school premises for students from Classes II to X in association with Scholastic Publishing Company. As informed by Ram Milan company representative, “We come here very year and the response is tremendous. We are offering books that can entertain, guide and enhance the knowledge of students. The main objective of our company is to provide with best study material for the students at economical prices.”
Fair offered books right from drawing, fiction, and science and autobiographies genre to name. Children were seen fully excited to explore the books and grab copy of books as per their taste. As students of class tenth Gunjan and Kanupriya said, “There are so many good titles that we wish to buy. Reading is a good hobby. It is something that makes one utilizes time and gain knowledge. Books are like mirrors: if a fool looks in, you cannot expect a genius to look out so we are taking time to pick our order.”
“I am going to buy a drawing book”, said excited Bhomika Thakur of Class first while pulling her mother towards the stall.
Knowledge is power, but here power seemed to be little taxing on pocket of parents as price of books ranged from rupees 150 onwards to 450. However, it did not break the zeal of students who wisely made their purchase and planned to share their assets with their friend and become wise and smarter by turning each page of every book that became part of their new collection.
