Cabinet Panel Reviews Guidelines for Rural Areas

A meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the regulation of construction activities in rural areas was held today under the chairmanship of Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi. Housing Minister Rajesh Dharmani and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh also attended the session.

During the meeting, the Panchayati Raj Department presented detailed suggestions on regulating construction and developmental planning in rural areas. Key recommendations included building height restrictions, maintaining safe distances from rivers, streams, and rivulets, provision for setbacks, and submission of line diagram maps, among other important guidelines.

These measures aim to ensure planned and sustainable development while safeguarding rural environments.
