A high-level meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, formed to develop a strategic framework for the effective utilization of 300 acres of land in the Gheer Industrial Area, Nalagarh (district Solan), was held today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan.
Chairing the meeting, the Industries Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to accelerating industrial development and creating meaningful employment opportunities for the youth. He emphasized that the project is envisioned as a major boost to the state’s economy through modern, sustainable, and investor-friendly infrastructure.
The committee thoroughly reviewed various development models and discussed financial and operational frameworks. The proposed industrial area is set to include advanced infrastructure, such as uninterrupted power supply, efficient water management systems, and high-speed connectivity to ensure smooth operations for prospective industries.
A comprehensive presentation on project possibilities and viable development options was given by Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), R.D. Nazeem.
After detailed deliberations, the committee decided to conduct a final cost-benefit analysis before taking further action. The findings will be presented in the next meeting for further consideration.
The meeting was also attended by Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, Director Industries Dr. Yunus, MD HPSIDC Richa Verma, Additional Director Industries Tilak Raj Sharma, and other senior officials.
